AAOM POLICIES
This page serves as the central resource for the policies, principles, and guidelines that govern the operations and conduct of our organization. These policies establish a consistent framework for decision-making, define organizational expectations and responsibilities, and promote accountability, integrity, transparency, and professionalism. All employees, representatives, members, exhibitors/sponsorsand relevant stakeholders are expected to familiarize themselves with these provisions and adhere to the standards set forth herein in support of the organization’s mission, values, and objectives.
Bylaws
Bylaws are the formal rules that establish how an organization is governed and operates. They define its structure, leadership responsibilities, decision-making processes, membership requirements, meetings, voting procedures, and other essential governance practices. Revised February 1, 2023.
Code of Conduct - General
The AAOM Code of Conduct was developed to be consistent with AAOM’s mission and core values, and to promote professional competence and integrity in medicine, practice, and service; ethical fulfillment of professional responsibilities; and respect for all people. Approved February 19, 2024
Code of Conduct - Meetings
Our Meetings Code of Conduct promotes respectful, professional, and productive participation. It supports constructive dialogue, inclusive participation, and a shared commitment to keeping meetings focused and collaborative. Approved February 19, 2024.
Spokesperson Policy
To safeguard the organization’s independence, avoid conflicts of interest, and ensure consistent messaging, this policy defines when and how board members may engage with exhibitors, vendors, and sponsors as spokespersons or representatives. Approved May 12, 2026
Finances
The purpose of financial management in the operation of all AAOM activities is to fulfill the organization’s mission in the most effective and efficient manner and to remain accountable to stakeholders, including members, donors, partners, funders, and the community. Approved February 18, 2026.
