BEST POSTER AWARD

ABOUT THE AWARD

The Best Poster Award recognizes annually at AAOM’s Scientific Conference the scientific merit of poster presentations as judged by the Awards Committee or its delegates.

ELEGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

This award is open to physicians, scientists, medical students, and other healthcare providers currently in residency or fellowship programs or no more than three years out of training as of the start of upcoming AAOM Annual Scientific Conference.

Nominee and Nominator both must be members of the AAOM in good standing at time of application, selection, and award distribution.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

In the criteria for determining best poster, the jury considers:

  1. Relevance to the field of regenerative orthopedic medicine

  2. preference for junior researcher as first author;

  3. the presence of author at the annual conference;

  4. the quality and novelty of the analysis; and,

  5. the presentation of material (see below)

Additional criteria for the Best Poster Award are:

  • Background provides appropriate perspective/context for the subject

  • Objectives/research questions are clearly stated

  • Research design/methods/modeling is appropriate and transparent {scores on this will determine winners in case of ties}

  • Data sources and/or sampling procedures are clear and appropriate

  • Research objectives are met/addressed

  • Factual information is kept separate from interpretations or implications

  • Abstract is presented in an unbiased manner

  • Clarity of presentation

NATURE OF AWARD

As a result of being recognized as a Best Poster Award winner, presenters will have the opportunity to speak from the podium during AAOM’s “2 Slides in 2 Minutes” agenda on Saturday afternoon. Winners should make travel plans accordingly.

Winners will also receive by mail following the Annual Scientific Conference, a certificate of award suitable for framing. Recognition will be provided by AAOM in the form of a newsletter article, and on social media as available.

POSTER SESSION GUIDELINES

Poster size:  36in x 48in
All posters must be mounted one hour before the scheduled session start. Poster numbers supplied by AAOM will be in the upper corner of each poster board, and this number corresponds with the number assigned to each poster in the technical program. Pushpins will be available at the poster session. Authors must remain with their posters for the duration of their scheduled session as indicated in the technical program. All posters must remain up until the session ends and then must be removed within one hour after conclusion of the session. AAOM cannot assume responsibility for materials beyond these time limits.
