AAOM created materials and programs that encourage, but do not guarantee, success on the examination will be promoted to all candidates. Candidates seeking certification will be encouraged, but not required, to register for AAOM professional membership and
AAOM programs and courses:
- For those candidates failing to successfully pass one or both portions of the examination, repeated testing would be available no sooner than six months after the initial attempt.
- Additional fees will be required for successive exam attempts.
- Participants will be provided with feedback that includes their overall written score and a
- Summary of their practical performances.
Suggested Pathway for Successful Certification Performance
- Active membership in the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine
- Attendance at the course IROM 200 at the AAOM annual workshop
- Attendance at the course IROM 300 at an AAOM international workshop
- Successfully complete 90 required course hours (Category 1 credit) from AAOM programs or approved equivalency courses
- Encourage at least three years' experience in the practice of regenerative injection techniques
- Encourage logging of at least 100 documented prolotherapy/injection therapy cases
- Complete the certification program application
- Submit the appropriate examination fee
- Receive passing grades on the written (70% minimum) and practical (pass / fail) examinations
