Certification Examination Details
The
IROM-C examination consists of two parts:
1. A 100-question written examination
($400.00 US$) is offered twice annually. Testing is available at the AAOM
Annual Conference and August Annual Workshop
Candidates must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% on the written
certification examination in order to progress to the practical portion of the
program.
Candidates are allowed three hours (international language candidates are
allowed three and one-half hours) to complete the exam.
At present the written examination includes the following topic breakdown:
- Anatomy
- Assessment / Diagnosis
- Philosophy / Definitions
- Safety / Solutions
- Treatments
2. The practical test ($500.00 US$) is offered only at the Annual Workshop in Guadalajara, Mexico in November. This portion of the exam evidences applied knowledge and skill to two body parts. This portion is proctored by two IROM-C physicians and is evaluated with a Pass / Fail basis. Topic areas evaluated are:
- Diagnostic Technique
- Diagnosis / Procedure
- Palpation / Marking
- Solutions / Needles
- Preparation / Aseptic
- Needle Technique
- Bedside Manner
